adrienne's tour diary for April 19, 2004
Lawrence is on the eastern end of Kansas. We're almost there, about an hour and a half out. We stopped in Salina, KS, looking for food, but didn't find anything that looked appealing..... The weather was good in Lawrence. We got into town around 7 and Chris W. checked out The Tap Room and the 24-hour coffee shop next door. We walked around the downtown, which was really nice, with wide clean stree...read the rest of this entry and more in adrienne's diary.

We drove through southern Wyoming, where the only signs were for fireworks for sale. The gas tank was on empty and we were in the middle of nowhere. We pulled over to what once was a gas station, but the pumps were covered with heavy rugs. There was a store and a woman was inside with two men. There were lots of dusty glass figurines for sale. The woman told us, "Larry, in the back, might have a c...read the rest of this entry and more in adrienne's diary.

I went on a nice little jog yesterday morning around the hotel, which was in the middle of an industrial area of town. South Salt Lake City. It reminded me a lot of South San Francisco, The Industrial City. I wonder if there's something to industry being south of a city. Like maybe windflow or something? I guess San Francisco didn't have much choice, though. In some fit of insanity, I agre...read the rest of this entry and more in chrisg's diary.

adrienne's tour diary for April 16, 2004
I think I accidentally changed the time on the hotel room clock radio because it was an hour behind when we woke up and the alarm I set didn't go off. There was a rush to get on the road, as we were pretty sure that Utah was on Mountain Time. Dan and Chris W. called the time lady in Reno and someplace else to ask, and both of the time ladies said that Utah was on the same time as Nevada, but Nevad...read the rest of this entry and more in adrienne's diary.

Despite going to bed so late last night, I was up at 8 this morning. It was one of those weird mornings where I felt like I'd slept in, even though I hadn't. got some janky coffee downstairs, and headed to salt lake city. during the daytime, reno loses its glimmer. the lights are gone, and it looks rather bleak. it's on trips like this that i realize just how nice the scenery is in california,...read the rest of this entry and more in chrisg's diary.

We knew we were in Reno when we saw all the lights. We took our equipment into the club and met Maverick, who's traveling across the country and had great things to say about Memphis. The bartender gave us a few menus for nearby restaurants and we ordered some take out from a brew pub place across the street where a really nice hostess chatted with Dan and I. At The Zephyr it seemed that quite a f...read the rest of this entry and more in adrienne's diary.

There always seem to be too many things to do before leaving town. I've been waking up real early in the morning to try and get things done, but I still found myself running around all crazy this morning, just trying to get stuff taken care of. And it still didn't work. I was supposed to have made some items for an art thing, but I ran out of time. I was supposed to file taxes, but I ran out...read the rest of this entry and more in chrisg's diary.

adrienne's tour diary for March 27, 2004
I moved to Fresno from Hawaii in 1986 and it was like a foreign country to me. While I left the Central Valley at 17 to go to college, there's something about that flat, quiet, city of truck drivers and Cost-Cos and mini-malls, with all its parking and convenience, big blue sky and calm, that I dream about sometimes. Convincing Chris and Chris (Dan is a Fresno veteran) to go to Fresno wasn't as to...read the rest of this entry and more in adrienne's diary.

adrienne's tour diary for March 17, 2004
3/17 We slept in a bit, delighted by the posh Hilton Room Chris W. got for doing some work at SXSW. We left the curtains open, with an illuminated view at night, to wake naturally with the sunlight and not have to suffer the consequences of opening the curtains all at once. A little after noon we drove around the corner in the van with all our gear for our Caucus Club afternoon show. Some people ...read the rest of this entry and more in adrienne's diary.

3/16/04 Chris W. and Jane had to wake up early but Dan, Chris G. and I didn't. Dan and I went to get breakfast at a place recommended to us by Justin called Las Manitas, but the breakfast menu had expired by the time we got there. I got the daily special, Tacos Suaves, and Dan got the pork al pastor. We were back at the hotel room by noon or so and drove to Dallas, got there by 5. The Unicorns di...read the rest of this entry and more in adrienne's diary.
