adrienne's Tour Diary

We knew we were in Reno when we saw all the lights. We took our equipment into the club and met Maverick, who's traveling across the country and had great things to say about Memphis. The bartender gave us a few menus for nearby restaurants and we ordered some take out from a brew pub place across the street where a really nice hostess chatted with Dan and I. At The Zephyr it seemed that quite a few men wanted to enter the ladies' room. None of them gave a reason, but they asked me if I'd look inside the restroom to make sure there weren't any ladies in there. Chris hadn't filed his taxes yet, and the guitarist from I Can Lick Any Son of a Bitch In the House had a special cell phone that hooked up to his laptop to make it connect to the internet, but that didn't quite work so Chris found a Kinkos later. I Can Lick Any SOB In the House told stories in every song, used tiny guitar amps on stands that still had strong volume, and one of the guys played harmonica through guitar effects. After the show we checked in at The Golden Phoenix, where we got a room from hotwire, for less than the Econo Lodge. We got upgraded to a suite for some reason, and it had a bar in it. There were jellybeans on the floor in the hallways.
