Note to self: do not eat a burrito before a show--choose the tacos instead. It was fun nonetheless. We played early 1980s Atari upstairs before the show, after the burritos. ...read the rest of this entry and more in adrienne's diary.![]() | there are photos for this date >> |

I met Mark on the corner of Market and Davis at 5:10 to get some more boxes of CDs since we'd run out. I planned to get on a 5:18 train out of the city to Oakland but I missed it. I found Mark via his shiny shoes and packed the CDs into my backpack. Dan and I thought it a good idea to get slices of pizza before the show but when we got to Portofino there was only one slice. We decided to split it...read the rest of this entry and more in adrienne's diary.![]() | there are photos for this date >> |

I'm gonna miss the Mile High Club. We got pizzas for dinner and ate them upstairs in the green room and Jason Ruck showed us "The Neck." Donny answered Greg's dare to shotgun a can of Pabst and he still seemed composed for the rest of the night. Pabst is a perfect complement to pizza. For some reason, with so many people upstairs and the lights dimmed low, it felt like we were stowaways in a rail ...read the rest of this entry and more in adrienne's diary.14 November 2004

This was the first time we'd played 12 Galaxies, though I'd been in the audience many times there. After we loaded in CW disappeared and Chris G., Dan and I shared tapas and drank beers at Cha Cha Cha in McCarthy's. They were out of the fabulous shrimp dish but our waitress suggested we have chicken in place of the shrimp, with the same insane sauce, and it was good. Got the plantains too. There'...read the rest of this entry and more in adrienne's diary.18 October 2004

Our plane from JFK was delayed and the movie (The Terminal) was awful, so it was a long ride home. Plus, we had to pay for our food on board the 737, $4 for mixed nuts and $8 for 6 slices of cheese, some crackers, and 10 tiny grapes. Still, there was little turbulence, which made it a good flight overall, as not once did I fear for my life at 37,000 feet or consider asking the pilot to just land t...read the rest of this entry and more in adrienne's diary.![]() | there are photos for this date >> |

I set the alarm to wake up for the free continental breakfast croissant/bagel bar which was being held at the top of the building, on a slab of concrete with great views through the glass walls. The young man in charge of the bread supply showed us how to get up on the roof where it was windy. There wasn't any hot water...so icy cold, but the tile floor was heated. Around 1 p.m. Dan and I walked t...read the rest of this entry and more in adrienne's diary.![]() | there are photos for this date >> |

We flew into JFK at 5:30 a.m. I slept a little bit after watching the cheesy movie they showed, a WWII romance. I wasn't the only one in the band to watch it, but I'll refrain from revealing who else kept his eyes peeled for the twist of death at the end of the film. We took a taxi to the hotel and there were quite a few people working there, putting in drywall or some other sort of dusty endeavor...read the rest of this entry and more in adrienne's diary.![]() | there are photos for this date >> |

We drove around the block about 5 times and couldn't find The Smell, visually or through the nose. When we did, we realized that we were so early the door had not yet opened. So we went to The Standard, a posh hotel with ambient music in the outdoor lobby not far away. There is supposed to be a great view of LA from the bar upstairs there. It was going to cost us each $20 to enter that bar, so we ...read the rest of this entry and more in adrienne's diary.![]() | there are photos for this date >> |

At the Hemlock there is Tecate beer on tap. I had three. The fog machine didn't really work like we expected it to. Sorry to those who were completely clouded in fog. Thanks to my brother for letting us stash our van in his garage after the show so we didn't have to pack up all over again for LA......read the rest of this entry and more in adrienne's diary.
