March 9, 2004 - Sea Level Records - Los Angeles, CA
3/9 Los Angeles is homeostasis, no need for a jacket or socks. My left eye started to itch. Tim took Chris and I to breakfast at The Brite Spot and Laurel met us there. Then I took a nap upstairs with Dora. Went to Caf?? Tropical with my friend Julie who lives in Long Beach now, but we both once lived in Fresno, played on the JV tennis team. We talked and snacked with Laurel until heading to Sea Level Records. Parking was easy to find. But Chris G.'s tiny suitcase of bass gear was missing. We drove to Spaceland and found one of Dan's leads, but no suitcase. Got Dianna's ATM card from the bar, where she'd opened a tab the night before and had forgotten to close. Headed back to the record store, played sans some effects pedals and keyboard, as the 1980's Casio wasn't amped, and with only one contact in, as my left eye was not accepting input. Juan, from Microcassette, who we played with in Pomona in November, came with his friends from Chino and gave us a new copy of their recording. We shopped in Sea Level for a bit and got some CDs for the road and then went to Alegria with Tim and Laurel on Sunset. Wonderful fish tacos, sauteed, not deep fried. I ate too much. We drove to Upland to Dan's mom's and I looked up "pink eye" on the internet. Bought eyewash at Vons and washed my eye out. Hoped all would be well in the morning.
