October 25, 2006 - Bitterscene - Chelmsford, UK

I love Chelmsford. We had a nice meal at Ancient Lights around 4 pm and then walked through the town. Yes, we went to Starbucks, since they have the T-Mobile hot spot and Starbucks is everywhere in the UK. We checked email, had some hot beverages, and watched the rain come down outside. It wasn't a strong rain but I used the giant umbrella I bought in an Islington Woolworths anyway.

Bendigo Tennyson are a band I wish existed in San Francisco, so I could see them again soon. I caught part of their set on video, so I can watch a tiny version of the band in replay, but it's not the same as the live set.

Just like last year I couldn't believe that this was the last show in the UK, but I was happy to be at Bitterscene. It'd be very cool if there was Bitterscene in San Francisco too. Or maybe I should relocate to Chelmsford. I'd never heard of this town before last year, and there's something magic about going to a town you never knew existed and feeling really happy in it.

After the show we headed to Jacki and Paul's house for some post-show onion and cheese pasties, beverages from the bar, an assortment of biscuits, and conversation. I don't recall what time it was when we went to sleep.
