Left the hospital room at 9:30 and took tram #51 into the city, stepping off at Waterlooplein and walking to Leidseplein where we accessed the world wide web from outside Bed Habits, near Los Amigos, where the wireless signals are strong. When we returned to Maggy's to shower and pack for our return voyage to the UK on The Pride of Hull, Maggy was watching a Charleton Heston film, something with "Peking" in the title. I suggested that she watch Planet of the Apes--CH's best film in my opinion. He finds a pretty lady no matter what time period or solar system he's in. Does he have children in real life?
We met CG in the parking lot just after 3 and began to load the van up. CW and Mai appeared shortly after. It seemed like ages since we'd been in the van. Dan drove us towards Rotterdam and I called P&O to ask for directions, which dock we were departing from. The lady who answered didn't know, but she suggested we follow the signs to Europoort, where we were once again stopped, questioned, and then allowed onboard the same ship we'd sailed to the continent in the week before. Our cabin was on the opposite side of the ship as our previous cabin, and its layout was the opposite of that first bunk. The mini bar beneath the tiny TV was opened and we took advantage of the free drinks and the cozy quiet atmosphere over which to share our Amsterdam experiences. CG learned to talk in the first person omniscient: "One would think that a waitress would deliver one's check promptly after a meal is consumed, but no."
