April 30, 2004 - Plush - Tucson, AZ

We got to Tucson earlier than expected, as Dan drove the whole way there, through West Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. We ate lunch at a DQ Brazier in Van Horn, almost a ghost town. A man eating a hot dog was talking to an invisible person in one of the booths. Dan took a nap in the van before the show and I talked with Gary, aka Setting Sun, who we know from San Francisco. Jonathan and Nicolette came to the show and we discussed our plans for the morning to get to Coachella. At Jonathan's I printed up our Coachella tickets on paper we bought at Safeway after the show. I forgot to take the festival schedule I printed up, and a giant festival with 5 stages is a mess without a schedule: all one hears is bass from everywhere, with no idea who's playing. A woman in line with us at the Indian food tent shared her schedule with us, and Dan wrote details onto what was left of the hotel pad from the Golden Phoenix.
