October 20, 2006 - Buffalo Bar - London, England
If we'd known that it would take us 6.5 hours to drive from Manchester to London, we probably wouldn't have stopped at the 'Welcome Break' for a half hour to discover and declare 'Wimpy' burgers as best avoided in the future. Last year we didn't have a map of London and were always issuing SOS cell phone calls for last minute directions. So this time I bought a London AtoZ map from the travel shop on Market at Guerrero and the information inside is priceless, though because of the windy nature of London streets, changing names every 20 feet, the challenge is more felt that when the Goonies searched for One Eyed Willie's treasure, that freako family at their ankles.
We're fortunate not to have a woman and her two sons, one of them a wannabe opera singer, on our tail. We pulled up to the Buffalo Bar an hour late but still got in a quick soundcheck, dined on Kebabs recommended by Rachel, and had a marvelous time at the show and afterwards at Sheetal and Jonathan's futuristic new home.
